I understand that, I was talking about the fact that the hardware is symmetrical, syncing timings shouldn’t be an issue.

You would think, but clearly it hasn’t been that simple. Been able to achieve a result does not always equate to being the right way. In this case trying to keep a price point, form factor, or any set of criteria’s

“Shouldn’t be” can differ from real life. Syncing the 2 video cables was a significant issue for the prototypes.

yeah im getting mine soon, hopefully in the future due to fiber optics speeds there could be a chance of running 120hz native somehow. hopefully its taken into consideration at some point

Does the optional fiber cable actually provide more bandwidth though?

No.

The limit is within the DP1.4 standard, not the physical capacity of the cable itself.

However Microsoft is taunting Thunderbolt 5 with 80 Gigabits transfer rate so newer headsets could take benefit
