Hey guys, I’m curious. What are you doing with the headset. Will you ship it in Februari or in April?
I am not sure what to do. What if you get the headset in Februari and there might be some bugs. The bugs should be then fixed in April. But waiting so long is hard.
I don’t have tracking, controllers, and proper hardware. It was logical for me to wait till April. They will fix most of the issues by then, and I will assemble a brand new PC. Win-win, except for the soul crushing feeling of unfulfilled anticipation.
I think you will get the exact same hardware either way… Might as well get it sooner!
I am in the same situation as @Soul. So I chose shipping in April. Besides I need some time to build my new PC at the beginning of the next year 
Why to wait till April if you can get HMD in January??? Time is gold!!! For me, it’s not a smart move choose wait till April. 
what…? they listed that option for the guys who don’t have vive base stations and controllers. Why would you NOT choose january if you already own a vive…? they won’t change the hardware lol…
January for sure. Many games can be played only seated.
I also chose January. I only added 1 base station to my order, for positioning. I intend to use the headset for Elite: Dangerous only. Even without positioning, the headset supports rotation, which is exactly the same as my current solution (an EDTracker module), so it’s not a big deal for me.
Will I be able to play Eve Valkyrie without the basestations? If yes what other Steam VR Games will work until we receive the controllers and the basestations. Does it make sense to buy a single Vive lighthouse until we get the rest of the full package?

There was a question in the survey (sent via email): Do you want the headset shipped in January or would you prefer to have your entire order (controllers and base stations) shipped at the same time (in April).
Thanks. I took a look and found the survey! I chose Feb for the headset and April for the rest. But I doubt very much that we’ll ger it first half of next year.

It says January for the headset and April for the rest even though my estimate should be Feb. I am backer 818. I would like headset and base stations to be ready in Feb. I don’t care about the knucklehead controllers or when they’re ready. I just want to play Project Cars and watching movies.

The thing is if they would have a bug with the headset they would patch it if it is software related.
If it is the hardware I dont think that you will get in April something different.
They said it clear on Kickstarter.
