5K+ and Nolo CV1 problems

Thanks, might be the way to go, even if awfully expensive, seem like the best available currently and for some time, well almost available but should be soon, they want to release this before Alyx :slight_smile:

So, something is definitely wrong with Pitool 249 and the way it handles Nolo drivers. This evening I lost again completely the controllers and base station, not seen by Pitool. I tried to reinstall and launch Pitool, great, they are in blue again in Pitool, so, detected. Bad luck, picture fubar again in the hmd as described in another post. I reboot the hmd with Pitool, picture OK in the 5K+ but boom, the controllers and base station are gone, gray again in the Pitool Status screen :frowning:
Restarting the service does not help. I think this is related to the headset marker being now connected to the USB-C port of the hmd, I had other odd behaviour before, but not this. Anyway, it should reconnect properly the headset marker to the drivers after a hmd reboot and/or service restart. It does not, and Pitool loses completely the Nolo components.

Edit: I tried a hard reboot of the 5K+ (power off/on) instead of soft reboot from pitool. Same result, Pitool loses the Nolo. I also tried to unplug/replug the headset marker from the hmd, nothing to do, Pitool has definitely lost the Nolo until I reboot the PC… and then probably get a messed up picture in the 5K+!

I think all of this is not far from working fine, but at the moment, it simply does not.

If your using upper usb-C port try the lower one. Maybe fill out a bug report in Pitool\Report Bug. Use the template provided. Be sure to include Nolo Firmware version.

Will need to ask team to include Nolo Firmware version in release notes with Oculus Sdk version support.

@PimaxQuorra

I’m using the bottom port at the moment, cable fits nicely. Will try the other one. CV1 still has the same firmware levels I had when I bought it last summer, I checked with Nolo Home and everything was up to date.

@SweViver csn you look into the firmware version of the Nolo with the Artisan to see if it is current? Are you also using Pitool 249 or an unreleased as of yet version?

My Nolo firmware versions are:

  • Headset: 2.4
  • Base: 3.2
  • Controllers: 2.5

Using the other 5K+ USB port didn’t change anything.

@SweViver, can you tell which version of Pitool you use with the Artisan? 249 or newer unreleased one?

Thanks.
